2016 SCHEDULE FOR LAKE MINNEWASHTA WATERCRAFT INSPECTION SERVICES ANNOUNCED
All watercraft entering Lake Minnewashta through the Regional Park will be subject to inspection in order to prevent the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species into the lake. Inspections will begin May 14 (fishing opener) and run from 5am-8pm 7 days/week through the end of September.
There will also be an extended service, as staff allows, through Oct 31; 7am-6pm Fri-Sun.
Total base season plus extended season inspection hours are 2,342. The county and Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) have a 50/50 cost share agreement very similar to last year.

NOTE FROM THE LMPA: All lake users, including homeowners and lake association members who trailer their boats and toys, are strongly encouraged to launch your watercraft into the lake ONLY through the Regional Park. This is to ensure that you are not bringing invasive species into the lake. After removing your craft from the water, remember to Clean, Drain and Dry it and remove your drain plug before transporting it.
